No design can be appreciated or enhanced without “green”, sustainable, energy efficient, sophisticated, and affordable illumination. It is an integral factor in the overall planning for construction, and impacts every adjacent system. Suggestions offer how to accomplish maximum integrated results. Actual projects illustrate caveats and practical tips. Presented by Conservation Lighting International Ltd.,

9:40 to 10:40: Best Sustainable Practices in Cabinetry– 1 AIA/CES (HSW/SD) LU

This program will explore the industry standards for Environmental Stewardship and the specific LEED credits that cabinetry can contribute towards under LEED. Presented by Quality Cabinets

10:50 to 12:20 Designing for Density – Multifamily Solutions that Work – 1.5 AIA/CES (HSW) LUs

If you are used to doing single family or custom home developments, you may not fully understand the unique challenges associated with multifamily concepts, or realize their potentials. Multifamily development can work very well for locations other than major cities. This program aims to get past the misconceptions of higher density projects and show attendees their options, helping them to think “outside of the box.” Presented by Barton Partners

2:50 – 3:50 Adaptive Reuse of Existing Buildings – 1 AIA/CES (HSW) LUs

Existing building condition evaluations are used to determine if there are any relevant structural issues that need to be addressed prior to making decisions regarding the adaptive re-use or historic renovations of these structures. This presentation will discuss how to apply IBC or IEBC as the code relates to additions, alterations, change of occupancy and historic buildings. Presented by O’Donnell & Naccarato

4:00 – 5:00 A/V Control Systems& Energy Efficient Applications – 1 AIA/CES (HSW/SD) LU

This program will explore using the A/V control and automation system to contribute to the energy efficiency in all building types. Participants will learn practical solutions for integrating control systems and the possible contribution a control system could have in a project seeking LEED certification. Presented by Hill Residential Systems
